Grades 3-6 - the font size is smaller, making it not practical for younger readers and the pages are extremely busy making it harder to follow the steps in order.Crafty girls and fans of the Spa Book for Girls will love this book. The cover has two girls in beauty masks on the over - very American Girlesque. There is a nice information page at the back labeled Craft Skills which gives short instructions on some of the skills needed throughout the book such as how to do a tacking stitch and a running stitch. Overall, I think girls will check it out just to browse through it, much like women enjoy reading magazines!
A lot of the crafts focus on making the packaging and there is less emphasis on the actual product. For example in Homemade Hair Gel - the steps, 1-4 are all about making the customized pot for the gel. The gel directions are up in the corner in a box the size of a Post-It note.
I would have liked to see a supply list at the beginning (or end) of the book as well. This would be helpful prior to beginning a craft.
